May’s Cub Scout Theme: Health and Fitness

Achievements and Awards to work on this month at home & den meetings:

Achievements: 14acfg, 15a, 16ac, 23abcde. Electives: 25a, 25b, 25h Leave No Trace Award Outdoor Activity Award Sports Belt loops

May 1st-6th – Tell leader any achievements/electives /belt loops/awards your cub has earned or completed at home and any segments you feel he earned.

May 1st – Ethan’s 9th Birthday

May 5th – Den Meeting. Bike Ride on Centennial Trail Ach 14f (bicycle belt loop). Do ahead of time: Ach 14a p.119-120. Do 2 other achievements before or after to complete this achievement. Time: 4:30pm-5:30pm Location: Harvard Trail head. Wear Uniform. Bring: Bike, Bike Helmet, Bike lock if they have one, water bottle that fits on their bike or rigged so that they can put it on their bike & ride with it.

Families are always welcome to join us on our outings!!!!

May 7th – Michael Lacaze’s Baptism. 5pm at Stake Center. Jr.Lilac Parade @9am. Garden Expo @ SCC. Family fun day at Convention Center 11am-6pm.

May 8th – Mother’s Day

May 9th – Leaders turn in April Awards earned by boys to Casey & Cubmasters.

May 10th – Relief Society Activity : Wills, Trusts & funeral preparation. 7pm

May 12th – Den Meeting: Hike at Dishman Hills. (Goes toward- Leave No Trace Award, Outdoor Activity Award) Time: 4:00pm Location: The Van Cleave’s. We will leave for Dishman Hills by 4:15pm. Will drop off scouts at home around 6pm-ish… Cubs must wear uniforms & bring water bottle & rain gear (garbage bag works). Doing ELECTIVE 25B, a few days prior to our hike would be a great idea. Boys need to be able to carry everything they bring by themselves.

Families are always welcome to join us on our outings!!!!

May 14th – Otis Orchards Community day & Parade. 11am-2pm? Check online or flyer in library.

Lilac Festival Parade 7:45pm.

May 15th – Ward Conference

May 17th – Craft / Scrapbooking / Cricut night: open to anyone who has a project to work on & wants to socialize while doing it. 5:30pm-10pm Primary room. Enter thru primary outer door on west side.

May 19th – Den Meeting. 2nd Hike to finish up Leave No Trace requirements. Time: 4:15 Location: Church Parking lot. Leave 4:20. Will be going to Liberty Lake County Park, unless I can find a better place to go between now and then – or if parents have suggestions that would be great! Again boys need to wear their uniforms, bring water bottle & rain gear & be able to carry it themselves. If you didn’t do Elective 25b before last hike, please do so before this hike.

May 21st – Ward Treasure Share 8:30am-2pm?.

May 24th – Ward Temple Night

May 26th – Pack Meeting. 6:30pm unless things change during the month. Michael crosses over to Webelos!

May 28th – Women’s only Skeet shoot at Greenacres Gun Club. $12.00 includes everything. Plus lunch.

May 30th – Memorial Day

May 31st – Michael Lacaze’s 10th Birthday.

June theme: Perseverance.

June 2nd , 9th, 16th & 30th Den Meetings.

Pack meeting June 23rd, hoping that Cub masters scheduled a campfire pack meeting at Wilkinson’s house, so boys can complete Ach.9g, Elective 25c & requirements for Outdoor Activity Award + it would be fun!

Jake and Ammon both turn 9 years old and will be crossing over to be Bears this month!

The first weekend in June is usually the Ward Father /Son campout (Elective 25de)

June 14th – Flag Day

June 17th – Last day of school for kids at Otis Orchards & Skyview. Parent Transport begins for CCSers

June 19th – Father’s Day

June 24th & 25th – HOOPFEST and Youth conference weekend

June 29th – CCS Awards & Play day 9am

June 30th – CCS last day of school. Picnic & fun day at Liberty Lake Pavillion Park. 10:30am-??? (Attend & it counts toward Outdoor Activity Award)

July Theme – Courage

Will try to plan a river rafting trip from Harvard trail head to The Van Cleave’s in July. No “official” den meetings until September. Haven’t been told when Pack meeting will be held in July yet, since day camp falls on usual day.

Day Camp : July 27, 28 & 29th

July 27th – Bishop’s Night at Girls camp.

July 29th – Transport girls home from girls camp.

August’s theme: Honesty

Aug 2nd - Dallin turns 10yrs old!

Work on Ach 18h

2nd week in August – Entries due for the Spokane County Fair & CCSers start back to school.
